What feeders do you offer?
Your weekly feeder delivery can include any of the following:
Type | Description✝ |
---|---|
Red Runners | Available in small (1/16 inch) and large (3/4 to 1 inch) sizes, they are a perfect alternative to crickets. They speed over jumping, have minimal smell, and won't die within 5 minutes of receiving them. |
Dubia Roaches | Available in small (3/8 to 1/2 inch), medium (5/8 to 3/4 inch), and large (7/8 to 1 inch) sizes. The quintessential feeder for most lizards and has a speed that even your slowest pets can handle. |
Black Soldier Fly Larvae | Available in small (1/2 inch) and large (1 inch) sizes. The best feeder for T slings, jumping spiders, and small lizards. If they don't catch it today, they'll love chasing it as a fly tomorrow! |
Waxworms | Sizes vary from 3/4 to 1 inch. The Waxworm is a tasty treat for a variety of animals, especially lizards and the pickiest eaters! |
Mealworms | Sizes vary from 3/4 to 1 inch. Mealworms are an easy-to-work-with feeder for jumping spiders, or small velvet spiders. |
Giant (Golden) Mealworms | Sizes vary from 1.5 to 2 inches. These are fantastic feeders for gaining the attention of more sight-driven animals while diversifying the nutrients from standard mealworms! |
Superworms | Sizes vary from 2.5 to 3 inches. When you want to spoil your animal with a hearty treat, these giants will sate even the biggest animals. |
✝Sizes are our best approximation, not a guarantee, and may fluctuate slightly based on availability.
What subscription tiers are available?
We offer the following subscription tiers, billed weekly:

What is a Feeder Point?
Each GrubSub subscription tier includes a set number of Feeder Points, which you can distribute among the many feeders we offer for weekly delivery. For example, Tier 1 gives you 10 Feeder Points to spend, and your weekly delivery could be customized to include four large dubia roaches and six mealworms. You can upgrade your subscription to a higher tier if you need more feeders. You can adjust how your Feeder Points are allocated at any time. The changes will be reflected in next week's delivery.
Where do you deliver in the Bay Area?
We prioritize GrubSub enrollment based on your proximity to our Hayward, CA distribution center (we'll be expanding coverage as we grow). Our current service area reaches north from Vallejo to south of South San Jose. For our delivery team's safety, we reserve the right to stop service to locations with higher crime risks—especially areas with frequent vehicle damage, theft, or violence. Any service changes will be communicated to customers beforehand, so we can discuss alternative options before stopping service.
How are insects kept alive in transit?
Deliveries happen on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM (more time slots coming soon) in climate-controlled vehicles. All feeders are gut-loaded before delivery, with heat or cold packs added as needed for each order. We collect packaging from your previous delivery during every visit for reuse, creating a sustainable cycle that reduces waste and keeps costs low.
What happens if some insects arrive dead?
In the rare event of feeder loss during delivery, we provide immediate replacements, credit, or additional feeders with your next shipment. While these incidents are statistically negligible, we maintain strict delivery protocols and document each transaction with a certificate of delivery receipt.
Can I pause or change my subscription?
You can cancel at any time. The payment for the current week is non-refundable. For vacations or short-term pauses, we'll cancel that week's order and restart your service the following week. Due to current system limitations, all pauses are treated as temporary cancellations that require re-enrollment to resume service.
What if I run out of feeders before my next delivery?
Ad hoc feeder purchases beyond your current plan can be requested via email at juicesarthropods@gmail.com or through Instagram DM @juicesarthropods. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and customers who often exceed their allocation will need to upgrade to the next tier or stop service.
How should I store the feeders when they arrive?
Ideally, you'll order only the feeders you need, but we can offer alternative storage solutions if necessary. If you consistently exceed or fall short of your current tier's allocation, email us at juicesarthropods@gmail.com to discuss options for upgrading or downgrading to better suit your feeding needs.
Can I choose my delivery day?
We currently offer delivery windows on Saturday and Sunday. Additional delivery days and times will be available in the coming months. To ensure driver safety, deliveries do not happen after 6:00 PM, although earlier time slots will be added soon.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can request to stop service anytime via email at juicesarthropods@gmail.com or Instagram DM @juicesarthropods.
